CODE OF CONDUCT

The DPS Code of Conduct is designed to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors. It outlines the expectations and standards of behaviuor that must be upheld by all members of our school community.

Respect and Dignity

Respect for Others: Treat all individuals with kindness, respect, and empathy. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, or any form of disrespect is strictly prohibited.

Respect for Property: Take care of school property and the belongings of others. Vandalism, theft, or intentional damage to property is not tolerated.

Safety and Well-being

Safety First: Ensure the safety and well-being of yourself and others. Follow all safety guidelines and report any unsafe conditions.

Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts peacefully and constructively. Seek assistance from a teacher, counsellor, or administrator when needed.

Academic Integrity

Honesty: Maintain academic integrity by completing assignments and assessments honestly and independently. Plagiarism and cheating are not acceptable.

Attendance and Punctuality: Attend school regularly and be on time for classes. Notify the school in advance of any absences or tardiness.

Dress Code

Appropriate Attire: Dress in a manner that is appropriate for a learning environment. Avoid clothing that may be disruptive or offensive

Technology and Social Media

Responsible Use: Use technology and social media responsibly and in accordance with school policies. Cyber bullying and unauthorised use of electronic devices during class is prohibited.

Substances and Illegal Activities

No Drugs or Alcohol: Possession, use, or distribution of drugs or alcohol on school property is strictly prohibited.

No Weapons: Possession of weapons or any item that may be used as a weapon is not allowed on school grounds.

Consequences

Consequences for Violations: Violations of this code of conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to verbal warnings, written warnings, detention, suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.

Reporting Violations:

Reporting Incidents: Students and staff are encouraged to report any violations of this code of conduct to a teacher, counsellor, or administrator.

Regular Review: This code of conduct will be reviewed regularly to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Amendments may be made as necessary.

Acknowledgment

Guardians acknowledge receipt of this code of conduct and agree to abide by its principles and expectations. This code of conduct is intended to promote a positive school culture and create a safe and conducive environment for learning. It should be communicated to all members of the school community and made readily available for reference. Additionally, it’s important to involve stakeholders, such as parents and students, in the development and review of the code of conduct to ensure it reflects the values and expectations of the school community.
